To our surprise the beach was under attack form hundreds, if not thousands, of seagulls. It looked amazing but also a bit scary, especially if you factor in the incredible noise all of them were making. Undeterred, I shot a few photos, and we continued along the beach only to witness another spectacle of a brave guy helping a baby dolphin in returning to the sea. Not able to fight the strong currents – and there were some quite big waves indeed – the baby dolphin, which must have got lost, was trapped in the rocks of a wave breaker. It took our hero a few attempts, during which he got entirely wet up to his waist, before the animal managed to return to the open see. Look at the photos to see the amazing rescue action! I fervently hope the baby dolphin has found his mommy and his rescuer will manage to avoid getting sick after his unexpected exploits in the cold water.
I concluded the walk with a shot of two beautiful shaggy dogs recklessly running along the beach – I wish I was so full of energy in the middle of winter!
It is amazing what you can see even during an ordinary weekend walk…
