And it’s still raining… and raining… and raining… So I can do nothing but keep recommending you original umbrellas with creative design. This time a collection of umbrellas with artistic prints – some straight from famous paintings, some looking as if a huge flower got magically turned into one. You can find these – and more – at www.artistgifts.com/index.htm

It’s been raining the whole day… Well, not exactly – sometimes it’s been pouring buckets, and at other times merely drizzling. Anyway, the result is one and the same – it’s wet. So what options do we have of fighting the rain? Here is an interesting one – these pretty umbrellas available from www.wisteria.com – not only will they protect you from the downpour, but they’ll add a splash of cheery colour to the dreary day ;-) It's gotten cold. And the dark, rain-heavy clouds outside the window aren't helping either. So it's no surprise that I've fallen in love with something called "Pom Pom Heart Fairisle Cuff Slipper Boots" - or, in other words, cute and warm slippers from the new Accessorize collection, the ones on the photo on the left. They're like a home-version of Uggs ;-) So, since there's plenty of long, cold and dark evenings ahead of us - so why not make them more cozy with a pair of fluffy slippers? Here are my favourites from the current Accessorize collection - enjoy! A bag by New Look I admit openly that I have a pretty big handbag collection by now (I’m sure you’d never have guessed… ;-))), but just today I was trying on a little black dress (which I’m planning to wear to a concert this Friday) and I realized something – I do not have a little black bag to go with it. Or even anything in silver, or aged gold or black lace or, well, basically, nothing that would go well with it. So it made me think of the one place you can always go to if you need a new bag asap, and your budget for it is a limited one – New Look. Their bags might not be the best quality, but they are very affordable while at the same time trendy, quite creative and fun. Plus they always have a wide selection in-store, so you can find something for every occasion. Here are a few bags from their current collection – maybe I’ll find something to go with my little black dress? ;-) I think I haven’t had a new hobby for quite a while…. And it’s definitely high time to find one, especially that once I moved from Holland I’ve lost access to the Dutch hobby shops. So I came up with something which I always wanted to try, but never got a chance to do it before – floristry. I’d like to do a course on it, but before I commit, I decided it was a good idea to try if I had an affinity for it. So I got some basic ingredients – foam, wires and, of course, flowers – and using a number of original Dutch bowls, plates and trays etc, I spent a few happily creative hours making a series of autumn flower arrangements. I have to say, I totally loved the process – even though it left a dozen nicks on my hands – and I do love the result. I have a vision of what I want to create in front of my eyes, and, surprisingly, I manage to turn it into reality – it simply clicks. Not to mention that the result is something perfect for a photo session – and those things are not plentiful in Warsaw. So it’s a win-win… And here I proudly present one of my first flower arrangements – a touch of Autumn in bold-coloured capsicums. What do you think? And why not try some simple flower arranging by yourself? Trust me – it’s not only creative, it’s also satisfying, challenging and, simply, fun! Yes, it's a ... lamp Remember the TAJ brand I’ve blogged abort earlier this month, when I presented their range of creative pillows? Well, obviously, the pillows are not their only product, and this time I’d like to show you TAJ’s collection of lamps. Kept in light, pastel colours, in a variety of surprising shapes (e.g. of a 3-tier cake!!!) and with hand-sewn subtle decorative elements, they are not only original and creative but also have a fairy-tale quality about them. That's probably why they're more suited to a child’s bedroom than any other place in the house. Here is a selection of the ones I like most, and you can find more at www.taj-woodscherer.com. Enjoy! I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s actually getting cold. The temperature has dropped low enough for me to actually start ferreting through my closet in search of warmer clothes. A warm, woollen sweater is a perfect choice for a chilly, autumn evening. Fortunately the fall fashion collections have already appeared on the stores’ shelves, and there’s plenty of choice. Just the other day I came across quite an interesting jumper-idea by ZARA. I’m calling it an “idea” since it’s much more than a jumper; ZARA has taken the concept of an old classic – a knitted sweater with Scandinavian reindeer pattern - to a whole new level by… accessorizing it. So there’s a long, beige jumper with white reindeers, and an entire range of accessories to match – two kinds of bags, a scarf, furry gloves etc. I have to say I like the bigger bag most – but as a whole it certainly is an eye-catching fall/winter fashion statement ;-) The Autumn will start officially in just a few days, so it’s high time to take a look at what my favourite interior design brands have created for their fall collections. Let’s start with the Dutch Riverdale: Joy of Living, which, as always, does not disappoint. There are 3 main themes for their new collection, and I’m pretty sure that will see more of these trends in the upcoming season. First, there is the “wood and denim” theme, second – the deep purple motif, and third – the classic white for china: And here are a few shots of what Riverdale proposes to decorate our houses with this Autumn; you can fin more at www.riverdale.nl .
Innsbruck – the capital of Tirol - is a world-famous winter sports city which in the past hosted quite a number of Olympic Games and other international competitions. But as it turns out it is also a treat to visit it in Summer. You’ll find here a sizeable Old City part with picturesque narrow streets, colourful merchant houses lining the squares, an impressive castle, imposing old churches and much, much more – all this set against the majestic backdrop of Nordkette, the so-called Insbruck’s own mountain range. But enough words – pictures are much better at conveying what Innsbruck is like, so visit my new Innsbruck Photo Gallery – enjoy! Finally, the heatwave is over and hopefully there are still some pleasantly cool but sunny days ahead of us before winter comes. It's a perfect kind of weather for some gardening - and why not make it more fun by using cheerful gardening tools? Who said that rakes and spades need to be grey only? I fell in love with the gardening collection by the German Coppenrath the moment I saw its watering can - cute, aren't they? You can find more at www.coppenrath.de
