The US government immediately sends two agents who must go under cover and protect Chuck at all costs, at the same time using him as a walking state secrets encyclopedia – one which unfortunately needs to see a foreign spy first in order to identify him.
Sarah Walker, the first agent, is a hot, dangerous and professionally-minded blond who takes on the role of Chuck’s girlfriend, while the other one – Major John Casey – pretends to be another BuyMore employee since this is where Chuck works (BuyMore being the parody of discount electronics department stores). And while Chuck is cute and endearing like a big-eyed puppy, the blond agent Sarah is of course hot and sexy, it is Casey – played by Adam Baldwin (and I swear this role must have been tailor-made for him) who is the most outrageously entertaining character in the long run – even though he’s the serious, brooding, gun-loving and duty-obsessed one.
I need to be honest here and admit that I did not like the first few episodes. The pictures were too “ultra-realistic,” the story has not been very convincing, the blonde agent was displayed as “sexy meat” in a rather irritating way (in my female opinion, that is, the guys probably wouldn’t mind) and I did not like the BuyMore storyline with its overdone parody. But my husband insisted we give it a chance, and believe me, he was right (yes, I am able to admit it publicly!!!) and it was worth it – so give “Chuck” the chance too!
