So what can you do if you want to display a bunch of photos at once? You can make a collage; only not the kind which requires you to get paint splashes all over yourself and your walls, and not the one where you’re required to paste pieces of God knows what to a canvas, but one from digital photos, made digitally too! (it’s clean, simple and fast ;-)
Below you have two examples of collages like that which I made from my photos of Ireland – and I think in this way they really convey the atmosphere of the place. I used Adobe Photoshop to do them, but again, any other photo editing software should do. For each collage I chose a group of photos with a similar theme (e.g. water, castles, mansions, gates etc. – whatever you want) and pasted them in neat rows and columns in a new document. For the background, I used one of the pictures, only enlarged and made pale (e.g. with the use of Brightness/Contrast function, by increasing the first one and decreasing the latter, with the “Use legacy” box checked).
And of course there is nothing to stop you from pasting and mixing the pictures in any way you want – neat rows are not exactly the most creative way, but they do look nice here, even if I say so myself ;-)
Finally, let me point out that this is not only a nice wall decoration and memory catcher, but also a really great gift idea – have it printed out in good quality e.g. in an A3 format, frame it in glass, and you have in your hands a really attractive gift, which is made more valuable by the fact you made it yourself. Not to mention that you’ll impress people with your artistic skills even if you do not have a lot of them…
