And yet there is probably no better place in this climatic zone to fake spring than the Netherlands. I already wrote once about the early beginning of the tulip season, but by now the ubiquitous flower stands are overflowing with all kinds of spring flowers – not only tulips, but also daffodils, narcissus, hyacinths, and I’ve even seen hydrangeas in pots. You can get bouquets, pot arrangements, baskets, ceramic bowls and a number of other artful spring mini-gardens. I’m actually planning a trip to a gardening centre tonight, to buy a piece of spring to cheer up my apartment.
