As exciting as it sounds, the problem you encounter (one of the many, may I add) is with your home. Obviously, you’re not going to invest huge amount of money into a house or apartment you’re going to leave behind in a year. On the other hand, you’re staying in one place long enough that you need something that would create a real home, with that homey feel, for you.
For me, it’s the small details that turn a living space into home. There are the classical home-warmers like cushions on the sofa, pictures on the walls, plants on the windowsills (unless, like me, you have a tendency to kill them all within a frighteningly short period of time). But there are so many other ideas for decorating your home in a creative and at the same time not-so-expensive way – things you can buy and things you can make yourself.
