Today I have for you another one of my floristic experiments, a square-shaped, ultra-cute and cheerful nest from hay, full of Spring flowers. Since it's got potted plants inside, I'm counting on it surviving for quite a while (unless I forget to water it...). It's made from a box wrapped in a layer of hay and a copper net on the outside, and unless you're allergic to hay, it's a perfect Spring/Easter accent for your home ;-)

What would happen if you were to combine an Easter egg with a grow-your-own-plant kit? The answer is: you'll get an Eggling ;-) It's a cute gizmo I've come across yesterday, another version of the “grow-your-own-something” product (we’ve already seen these in bags, buckets, pots, cans etc…). But this time you’ll be sowing your herbs or flowers into a ceramic egg that looks like a real one, which you’ve just cracked open at the top. Not to mention that it makes a perfect Easter gift! I pasted some photos below, and you can find more at: www.eggling.com PS. I just love the one with a cactus... And here is another proof that Spring has indeed already arrived, even though the weather outside seems to be saying otherwise (windstorms, hail, heavy rain - you name it, we've already had it these last few days...). It's a stork! When they arrive here, in Poland, after a long journey from the other hemisphere, it's a sure sign that it's Spring. I've spotted this one a few days ago, it's the first one I've spotted this year :-) t was already pretty dark, so the photo is not of the best quality, but it's an undeniable proof! And how is your Spring-hunting going?
Today an Easter/Spring idea for cheering up your table - a new collection by Villeroy and Boch, called Farmer's Spring. I must say that the name seems to be quite accurate, with all the pastel greens and all these farm animals appearing here and there. It's delicate, subtle, rather classical in shape and design, and very optimistic - perfect fot this time of the year. Not cheap, but even one cup from this series may be a lovely gift for someone :-) You can find more about these here, enjoy!
Remember the flower show I went to last weekend? I'm finally done with working through all the photos, and ended up with a collection of 30-something amazing ideas for Easter and Spring wedding arrangements. Not only for florists, but for all those of us for whom looking at beauty and aesthetics brightens up the day, this show was a perfect place to be, 5 hours straight of pure pleasure and sesnory delight. I'm not putting the photos here, since they've been acquired by one of the Polish floral portals, and you can see them all there, in a photo gallery, if you click here. Enjoy! PS. I did put on the left the photo of the arrangement I liked most, a flowing, romantic one in a mediterranean style, which brings to mind the warmth of summer holidays. The arrangement has been made by Magdalena Kaczmarek-Sidor. So I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, but I've recently started a fashion-design course. It's a basic one for those who just want to play a bit with fashion as a relaxing hobby, which is perfect for me - I might be crazy about fashion, trends etc, but I can neither draw nor sew ;-) But knowing one's limitations is a good start, isn't it?
Our first project is to design a decoration/print for a white T-shirt, and here is my design. I'm not sure how it'd look like once I actually make it, but I hope it'll work... Right now I'm having problems finding a dark-green material, but hopefully I'll find something today. Keep your fingers crossed!!! I’ve been away for the last few days since I went to a florist show which was being held at the other end of the country, but I’m back now! The show was amazing and I‘ve brought back quite a few photos, and I’ll certainly publish them once I have some time to work on them a bit. In the meantime, it seems that Spring has indeed finally arrived, with all it’s sunny warmth and green shoots appearing everywhere :-) And Easter is really just around the corner now, so today I have for you a collection of Easter knick-knacks which can serve as both – decoration for your home, and small gifts. I’ve recently discovered a chain of shops with home deco articles, which is very affordable and carries some very cute seasonal items – Home&You. Right now, you’ll find there 3 different lines of Easter decorations, called violet meadow, traditional table and Eco-Easter. I’ve chosen my favourite items to show you here, and you can find more on this website. Enjoy! |
